Careers Day

24th Nov 2021

All students participated in a Careers Focus day in November. Older students spent the morning considering their options on leaving school, learning that they must then do one of the following until turning 18: stay in full-time education, for example at a college. Start an apprenticeship or traineeship. Spend 20 hours or more a week working or volunteering, while in part-time education or training.

There were guest speakers from STEM engineering, Shrewsbury Town Football outreach, the uniformed services, a tree surgeon and County Training.

In the afternoon Key Stage 4 students visited Shrewsbury, Oswestry and North Shropshire colleges to investigate courses within their areas of interest. Key Stage 3 students went to Hoo Farm to learn about a career working with animals.
