Welcome to Longridge School

Welcome to our school website. Longridge School is a New Reflexions independent special school for children and young people who have moderate learning disabilities, autism and associated emotional and behavioural difficulties for whom a mainstream setting is not appropriate. The school is part of New Reflexions Care Group; an integrated service of care, education and therapy, which provides residential on site accomodation within a beautiful period home for up to 6 young people. In addition, Longridge School offers day placements to students from neighbouring local authorities.

Our small, nurturing provision offers a broad and creative curriculum for learners from upper primary to secondary age; admitting students in school years 3 to 11.

Longridge School places considerable emphasis on core Maths and English learning within a wide range of national curriculum topics for its students, underpinned by a whole school approach to the personal development and emotional well-being of each student. Students have access to an engaging and functional curriculum, which is tailored not only, to their developmental stage, age and abilities but also focusing on the development of personal skills required for life beyond school.

Well-qualified, passionate and experienced staff work together, to remove the perceived barriers to learning, with which students with special educational needs and differences are frequently associated. Our personalised student centred approach to a meaningful learning experience creates a successful and happy school community.
