I have been the head of New Reflexions’ school since its origin in September 2008 and I am immensely proud of the vibrant learning community which it has become. More recently I have been delighted to oversee the expansion of the school to include a primary provision alongside the expanded secondary provision. My role involves the day to day running of the school, liaising with a vast range of professionals who support our students, as well as welcoming new referrals and teaching. My best days are when I get to do fun activities with our students, especially if they are a little bit competitive!

After being a teacher, deputy and acting head, for over 20 years in London mainstream schools, I relocated to Shropshire and started at The Evolution School in January 2020.  

I’m passionate about every child being able to access a fun, engaging but challenging curriculum and our small, nurturing school provides an amazing context for this.  Our topic based, integrated approach really puts reading, with access to good quality children’s literature, at the heart of what we do.  My training as a maths specialist means that I am committed to children building up their maths skills and knowledge by accessing carefully planned, interactive, one step at a time teaching.  

Reading and exploring the beautiful county of Shropshire, with perhaps the odd cream tea (!), are ways I like to spend my spare time.
